46 BEST SKIN LIGHTENERS

Here is a comprehensive list of skin lightening products that I have compiled that has been known lighten or assist with ligtening such as exfoliants. Many may work for some people (as well as being free of steroids and mercury) in order to help us all on our never-ending search for effective and safe skin lighteners. I am not saying that all of the products listed below will work great for everyone. Because I doubt that this is possible, since everyone's skin is different and unique. Keep in mind that some people may find a product(s) that is not as effective as compared to another user using the same product and that theres always the chance of a product being ineffective, causing bad reactions, or perhaps quite effective...in other words, so it is all trial and error.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Please also keep in mind that these products are not in any specific order. I tried to have the full titles of the products spelled out correctly in order to have an easier search and that some of the products possibly may work best in conjunction with another product or possibly not. They all range from inexpensive to expensive in price range. As with all lighteners it's best used along with an effective exfoliant and sunblock high in spf that has UVA/UVB protection, as well as limiting your sun exposure. I will try and add on a consistent basis other additional skin lightening products that has probability of being effective for us all.

Alizee love,

I really look forward to any response you get from F & F. They too can be very evasive and can skirt around a lot of questions.

Or exasgerate as I have read on varoius forums; allison in particular.

As for them keeping mum on their ingredients, what else is knew? What I don't understand is why does the USDA not step in and demand they list all of their ingredients? Other skin companies like St.Ives and L'Oreal have to.

I see, that has happened with me before too. Customer servi ce is a an important art that some companies have been able to master. Do let us know how it works out.

It is indeed disappointing and makes me wonder whether they do still have the very high HQ quantity that was suggested in the product info listing. I guess whether it does or does not, they feel that keeping people in the dark is the best way to progress.....

I know, I was looking again at my old f&w gold box and only the inactive ingredients are listed. People will have to go all the way to the distributor's web site to know what is actually in it that gives lightening, as I have noticed that many retailers' who carry the fair & white brand may not list Hq or the % of hq that is in it. I thought by law it was required that all ingredints (especially the active ingredients) must be listed. F&W is located in France, if that makes any difference.

Actually france, really most eu countries, have very strict laws when it comes to labeling and so it is very scary that f&w purposefully omits their ingredients but since hq is not legal in France that may be why they don't list it; still no excuse though

Do you think they are really from France or actually manufactured from somewhere else and using the mentioning of France as a scapegoat?..

GG,

I am wondering whether they have used another name for HQ. For example 1,4-benzenediol is another name for HQ, so someone trying to avoid it may not realise this.

Yes, that is a very valid point and another clever way for companies to have their products passed without testing just by using other associated names for the chemical or the INCI name.

Bio Claire tries to confuse people about their location along with their "bio vegetal" state of the art technology secret ingredients". They are actually being manufactured in Cote d'Ivoire, Ivory Coast. The company's name is Nouvelle Parfumerie Gandour and they also are the manufactures and distributors of Maxi Light, G&G, Cheri Claire, Carotis, etc. Here are the links:

Since they have illegal ingredients in Bio Claire, imagine what can also be in their other products that "lighten and even" skin tone. They are very clever, so imagine what other companies are also doing this and getting away with this. You never really know 100% what is being applied to the skin unless they are each laboratory tested.

Nouvelle Parfumerie Gandour sounds very familiar. If I am not mistaken. It is a fairly well known lightener in france

Wow a peel with hq? Very interesting and I have been considering a lactic peel but if there's one with hq, I might try that.

The skin also plays an important role in transmitting signals from the
external environment and in regulating body temperature. The structure
of skin confers mechanical strength, enabling it to withstand
considerable physical insults, and when it is breached.

Currently waiting for cooler weather so as not to worry too much about my skins sensitivity to the sun. I really want to but with the new job and all, it may not be a good idea to have my face peeling and what not lol.

How about you GG?

Hi everyone, I'm beginning to use a few Belo Essentials products, despite the fact that there isn't a lot on the internet in terms of reviews. Should I use these products? I've ordered them and am waiting for them now, or should I get Likas soap and keep the whitening lotion I'll be using? (I bought the pink bar and pink lotion and intend to use it in the morning and evening every day)

Hello and welcome to the board. I myself am leery of any 'lightening' soap but you may find one that really works. I have used Liks and it did seems to lighten # slightly unless that was my imagination, which is possible lol.

Hi Ciao,

welcome to the board !! I have come across this brand though never personally tried it. Do you know what the active ingredient is for lightening? What are you trying to achieve in terms of lightening and have you tried anything else prior to this?

yes___I mean no

Thanks everyone for your kind welcomes!

This is the first time I've tried a lightening soap and lotion. I want to say that the main ingredient is kojic acid, that's what I've read. But when I receive my stuff I'll be sure to give you guys a list of ingredients. I'm wondering if I ought to also get Likas as a backup plan, or to use in the evenings only and use the Belo one in the morning? I suppose I can try the Belo products, if after regular usage for...oh, two and a half or three months does absolutely nothing, then I'll probably switch to Likas and a good lightening lotion. (Speaking of which, are there any good ones without anything too harsh chemically? My skin is kind of sensitive to strong chemicals, hence why I'm not using HQ or RA products without talking to a dermatologist first)

I'm generally trying to achieve a better evenness in tone. My upper legs especially look to be about a shade darker than my lighter torso and upper arm area. It's odd because I rarely wear shorts in the summer, and if I do, I use SPF 50 at least and re apply every 30 minutes or so. Being a little whiter overall wouldn't hurt, either.

I'm just kinda surprised that there isn't a lot of reviews for the Belo products. It's also a bit of a cause for concern, why there are no reviews...a bit nerve-wracking to me. Maybe I'll just be the first, haha.

Thank you everybody for your help, and it's awesome to find a good resource for lightening products. Smile
